    New Adsense Tips

I have a blog that is a little over a month old with Google Adsense on it. I am curious to how everyone is using Adsense now that Google is apparently penalizing you for having ads above the fold. How are you getting around this?

Yeah what do you mean exactly by 'above the fold' .. do you mean above the header or where the tagline should be??

This is something that I wasn't aware of!

Does anyone know if Google is only penalising for their own adsense ads or if it's for other banners as well? I've just spent ages re-designing my blogs so that the advertisements were more visible and now I'm wondering if I've been counter productive.

Hmm. I'm sorry I have a blog with adsense and I am just lost here. What do you mean by above the fold? Google is penalizing bloggers for placement of their ads? Designated ad area problem? Or by above the fold do you mean a different kind of ad? Like ads that don't fit the current paradigm.

For something like this we need a link or a credible reference. I hate how google just changes stuff like this, could they not send out a mass email to all adsense owners CLEARLY explaining the situation with CLEARLY defining rules.

I love how big companies get away with violating adsense rules though...

"Above the fold" is a newspaper term which means the top of the page if the newspaper was folded in half. In website terms it means any advertisements which are visible as soon as you go onto the website prior to scrolling down. I think the notion is to penalise any "in your face" google ads but I don't see what Google's problem with this would be. Wouldn't it be better for them financially if their own ads were more visible?
